Sometimes there is real pleasure in writing a chapter that is just out-and-out porn.  No advancing the plot, not a lot of character development, just porn all the way through.  I spent a long time building up to this chapter, so when I finally got to it I had a kind of 'fuck it' ethic - much like Max.  We finally got here, let's not do anything halfway.  Plus I had a crew of guys who were apt to be horny and would feel no need to restrain themselves.  In addition, I have two characters who are superhuman and won't get tired, sore, or anything else.  Nobody has any reason to be shy or reticent.

You actually run across moments like this fairly rarely in this kind of writing.  I don't want to write the kind of stuff where everything is normal until the sex starts, and then the saxophones kick in and everybody turns into a porn star without regard for character or outside events.  I want to write stories where people happen to have awesome sex, so a lot of times there are personality issues, physical limitations, history between the characters that affects the scene, and has to be considered.  Not often do I get to just cut loose like this, with few if any restraints.

Modern characters are easier too, as one can assume a modern character has a more broad view of sexuality, as sex is something we debate and discuss far more than people in some other time periods.  A person in our era has much more knowledge and savvy, in general, than a person from the 1800s, and that makes deciding their attitudes and reactions much easier.  It is hard to imagine a modern person with an internet connection being confronted with a sex act they have not at least heard of, if not seen performed.
