I always enjoy when a character has to go undercover - it's one of my go-to ideas for any kind of porn.  When a character has to pretend they are something they are not, it easily leads to all kinds of sexy shenanigans, or at least it does when you are having to pretend to be a prostitute or some other kind of easily-accessed role.  Pride & Prostitutes was essentially this all the way, so it should surprise no one that it's my kind of thing.

I don't write as much bondage as I could partly because a person who is tied up presents less drama to my mind.  A character who is bound is not exercising choice, while a character who is being compelled by circumstance is constantly making choices.  I read a porn story, years ago, in which a girl was supposed to get a job as part of her acting class - to play the 'role' of the person the business wanted to hire.  This girl chose an escort service and ended up screwing the guy who interviewed her.  It was really hot, and that kind of situational coercion remains one of my very favorite tropes.

In any case, it is far less creepy to motivate porn characters with carrot, rather than stick.  When a character wants to avoid something, there might be any number of ways to do that, depending on the character and circumstances.  (Knowing our characters, violence would be likely.)  But when a character wants something, then they can be led to do almost anything, depending on how bad they want it.  And for the reader, this means more sweet, sweet porn.
